Rod seals are one of the most vital Elements in a Sealing System, considering that any non performance of these can lead to considerable impact on the performance of the whole Equipment. In addition to all factors applicable to Piston Seals, Rod Seals non performance can lead to loss of fluid, thus affecting the environment too. RUA

Single Acting Single Lip Asymmetric Rod Seal, its easy handling nature makes it one of the most preferred seal for light and medium duty cylinders. A leading candidate for usage as a secondary seal, in cylinders where surge pressures are expected. Being in PU, can absorb a Piston Rod misalignment to a certain extent. Can be made available upto 1200mm, which are machined out from Cast Polyurethane tubes. Thin Cross Sections available for Telescopic Cylinder applications.

RUB

Single Acting Double Lip Asymmetric Rod Seal, its easy handling nature makes it one of the most preferred seal for medium duty cylinders. A leading candidate for usage as a secondary seal, in cylinders where surge pressures are expected. The secondary lip, supports the seal better in cases of spike pressures and also avoids the heel of the seal rubbing on the Piston Rod. Can be made available upto 500mm, which are machined out from Cast Polyurethane tubes.

RUL

A sleek seal, which is compatible to grooves of RSS Style Seals. Care to be taken while assembling to ensure that the O Ring is not sqeezed out while making the seal to a kidney shape, to aid installation.

Materials: Polyurethane Sealing Element with an Energiser in NBR 70 Shores

RUC

Double Lip Rod Seal, similar in characteristics to RUB Style Seal, but can handle higher pressures, thanks to the Anti-Extrusion Ring. Also, this seal can handle larger extrusion gaps, behind the seal groove.

Materials: Polyurethane Sealing Element with a POM Anti-Extrusion Ring

RPS

Single Acting Symmetric Rod Seal, makes it also suitable to be used as a Piston Seal, with almost similar characteristics as that of RUA Style Seals. Can be made available upto 1200mm, which are machined out from Cast Polyurethane tubes.

RBF

Mostly used as a Buffer Seal and can take pressure surges, thanks to the Anti-Extrusion Ring. Widely preferred in Heavy Duty Cylinders as a Primary Seal, followed by a U Cup.

RSS

“TRITILT” Single Acting Rod Seal, offering a very low friction and also available for a large range of diameters. Best suited to be used in conjunction with a RUB style of secondary seal, for applications with pressure spikes. Always suggested to use a Double Lip Wiper, in order to retain the fluid film, within the system. These Seals can also be used in tandem arrangement, where in a low friction system can be achieved when used in conjunction with a WDE or WDF Style of Wiper Seal.

Materials: Bronze Filled PTFE Sealing Element with Energiser in NBR 70 Shores.

RTD

“TRIGLIDE”, A versatile Double Acting Rod Seal, with a very low friction and available for a wide range of diameter. Grooves as per ISO 7425/1. Widely used in applications where same media is present on both sides of the seal, but may be at different pressures, like that of a Slave Cylinder.

Materials: Bronze Filled PTFE Sealing Element with Energiser in NBR 70 Shores.

RES

Single Acting Rod Seal, with a PTFE based jacket and a cantilever spring, which offers compatibility with almost all media.Suggested to install in open grooves.

Diameter Range: Ø6.00 – Ø500.00

Materials: Bronze / Carbon Filled PTFE with Stainless Steel Cantilever Spring

Temperature (ºC): -70º C to 260º C

Pressure (bar): ≤ 450 bar

Speed (m/s): ≤ 15.0 m/s

Fluids: Hydraulic fluids (Mineral Oil based ), Water, Air, Chemical & Gases etc depending on Seal Compounds selected.

RHC3

Multiple Sealing edges, with possibility to adjust the lip preload, resulting in longer life of the sealing system. Can be used for higher pressures, but mostly at the cost of additional system power requirement, due to friction enhancement while tightening the sealing elements.

Materials: Acetal Resin Leading Element / Fabric reinforced NBR Sealing Elements

RST

A simple Rod Seal, which is easy to assemble and finds application in light duty cylinders.

Materials: Sealing Element in NBR 70 Shores and POM Support Rings

Pressure (bar): < 350 bar

Speed (m/s): ≤ 0.5 m/s

Fluids: Hydraulic fluids (Mineral Oil based) depending on Seal Compounds selected.

RAB

Rod Seal, used in low or medium demanding applications. Also available with an Anti-Extrusion Ring, which can relax the Hardware diameters, or in other words making it suitable for Glands with larger Extrusion Gaps.

Materials: Fabric reinforced Nitrile (Also available with Acetal Resin Anti-Extrusion Ring)

RHC

Good old technology, where the operational life of the seal can be enhanced by adjusting the preload on the sealing lips. Results in higher friction compared to other type of Rod Seals. Gland construction is cumbersome, compared to those glands using snap in type of seals.

RSE

A sturdy Rod Seal, which finds its usage in High Pressure Cylinders, as the materials used in its construction arrests any sort of extrusion possibilities.

Materials: Nitrile Sealing Element with Fabric reinforced Nitrile Support Ring and POM Anti-Extrusion Ring.
